The meeting gathered around 50 women from the agro, with the objective of providing knowledge and information about local agricultural production. The general evaluation of the participants is positive.

The event was organized by the Agroligadas board, which set up a working group formed by directors Eloisa Hage, Denise Hasse, Hebe Vacari, Manaíra Minuzzi, Loriane Duque, and Roseli Giachini. The Mato Grosso nuclei of Sapezal, Sinop, Lucas Rio Verde, Tapurah, Campo Verde, and Barra do Bugres were present. As well as the centers in the states of Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul, Roraima, and São Paulo.

Rural producer in Cláudia-MT, Roseli Gianchini, who participated in the organization, remembered the importance of the biome and the concern that the cattle raiser in the region has with preservation. “We met people, producers, collaborators. It was fundamental for us to get to know the reality of this ecosystem and everything that the people who live here have done to ensure its sustainability. Maintaining balance with profitability”, he pointed out.

Representing the São Paulo branch, Débora Simão did not know the Pantanal and highlighted the connection with people provided by the tour. Hearing and learning the stories of Pantanal families was what most caught her attention. “People who have spent generations here and who today have difficulty in producing, generating income from their farms, and developing cattle farming. Learning a little about this day-to-day life, these challenges, gives us another look at this region and makes us aware of the importance of developing public policy solutions for the local reality,” said Débora.

For Roberta Nicareta, from the Agroligadas nucleus in Roraima, getting to know the Pantanal was a unique opportunity. She says that what struck her most was the local preservation allied with production. “I see that the pantaneiros need to be supported to continue this work and we need to guarantee assistance, effective public policies, and give continuity to cattle breeding, to rural tourism that is so well done and for them to prosper in the region, keeping this balance that we can know”, he emphasized.

Gabriela Sagin, a producer from Tapurah, was also in the region for the first time. Despite living in Mato Grosso, the event provided new knowledge, especially about local livestock production. “I loved it, it was a new experience, I didn’t know the Pantanal. I liked it a lot, especially this tourist part, which is quite famous, and the productive part, which is not very widespread around the world, but we had the opportunity to get to know it.

Invited by the board, rural producer Sônia Bonato came from Imaperi-GO to participate in the Pantanal Agroligadas Tour. “I didn’t know and had no idea what the Pantanal was like. It was important to know the challenges they have to produce here in the Pantanal and how much the Pantaneiros work in partnership with nature. I really appreciate the invitation to participate in this meeting, which was very special”, she said.

Besides the technical knowledge, the women also learned and experienced local tourism with visits to two farms that promote rural tourism, participated in safaris and other outings to observe local animals and birds.

The president of the Agroligadas movement, Geni Schenkel, made a general evaluation of the event, thanked the working group that organized the whole program, as well as the participation of all the women. “It was another excellent event, like everything else the Agroligadas do. I am sure that all of us are coming back with a lot of knowledge to continue our purpose, which is to connect the countryside with the city, talking about the Pantanal with much more property. I am very grateful to our directors who organized it with such care, to the sponsors who believed in this work, and to all the women who were present,” she concluded.

The Pantanal Tour was sponsored by FMC Agrícola, John Deere – Agrobaggio, Iguaçu Máquinas, Aster Máquinas, and Primavera Máquinas dealers.
