The operation of the “Crop-Livestock-Forestry Integration” system on a rural property was closely presented to university students and professors on Agrolinked Field Day. Held on October 4th, the technology was shown at Grupo Morena’s farm in Campo Novo do Parecis – MT. The main objective was to show the positive results of the good practices in the agricultural and cattle raising activities implemented in the farm.

With lectures and a cycle of field stations, the open day provided students with practical experience and learning about agribusiness. The participants visited four of the farm’s production cycles: the forestry/livestock integration area; the feedlot, the corral, and the stud farm. The Morena Group is a reference in the implementation of technology in ILPF, with a focus on sustainable development.

Gerson Nicolau, an Administration student at the Unemat – Nova Mutum campus, was surprised with the innovative event and guaranteed that he will share with friends and family what he learned at the farm. “The day was very profitable, a unique experience for us students. The knowledge of ILPF that I acquired I will pass on to my friends who have rural property for cattle management”, she said.

For Cibele Rocha dos Santos Duarte, a biology student at the Unemat – Tangará da Serra campus, having access to field activities is interesting because it helps future biologists to have a wider range of choices to follow their profession. “I liked it, I had never thought about pursuing a career in agriculture in college, because I was always in the classroom, this initiative opened my mind to new future choices,” she said.

The implementation of technology and software invested in the farm impressed Nathália Lobato Alves, an administration student at the Unemat – Campos de Júlio campus. “This implementation enables employees to have results with more excellence, I was surprised. Furthermore, I saw the importance of women in agriculture, how much this equality between men and women has grown, proving that we also have the same, or greater, capacity to be in this area and management,” she said.

Addressing the impact of the internet generation on people’s lives. Doctor in Communication, Dado Schneider managed to capture the students’ attention with his lecture: The World Has Changed… Right in My Turn!

“The generation that is going to guide the behavior of the new generations is emerging. We need to update, change, and accept the new. This work of the Agroligadas is sensational. I came all the way across Brazil to be here today, and I have a smile on my face, because I’m delighted with what I’m seeing, college students who are really interested in being a little above average,’ declared Dado, who is from Porto Alegre.

The event also featured lectures by Josiane Lage – Zootecnist and Product Manager Cargill – Nutron and Sinara Ferreira – Commercial Director of FMC Agrícola. Coordinator of the Agrolinkas, Dulce Ciochetta said that the feeling is of duty fulfilled. “The intention of the Agrolinkages to make the city-field connection was applied to students who usually have no contact with the day to day life of rural properties and for sure they will pass all the knowledge forward. The feedbacks were very positive, we are very satisfied”, she said.

Organized by the Agrolinked Movement, the Field Day was supported by Nutron, Cargill, and Senar (National Service for Rural Learning), and sponsored by FMC Agrícola, John Deere, Agro Amazônia, Sicredi, Valtra Brasil, Fendt, Sumitomo Chemical Brasil, Ouro Fino Agro, and CHDS do Brasil.
