The women who are part of the agribusiness, besides having conquered an important space in their careers, inspire and make the sector advance with more gender equity. Today, they are in the field, in research centers, working in various areas of agribusiness and occupying leading positions. But despite the advances, there are still many challenges.

To better understand the participation of women in Brazilian agribusiness, Agroligadas, with the support of Corteva Agriscience, Abag (Brazilian Agribusiness Association) and Sicredi, conducted a national survey to assess how these women perceive the advances around the theme, as well as to list the challenges still present.

The study, conducted by Fran6 Pesquisas, heard 408 women who work in agribusiness, from north to south of the country, and brings important data about the situation of rural women in a moment when it is fundamental to recognize the importance of women in agriculture and cattle-raising and identify obstacles that prevent them from having a full and successful participation in the sector.

Today, the role of women in agriculture and cattle-raising is increasingly wide and growing. For “inside the gate”, we have the rural producers, cattle breeders, and those who work or provide services inside the farm, such as specialists in cattle insemination, microbiologists in the detection of natural combats and organisms in crops, quality certifiers of the production process, and many other activities.

The study was conducted in 2021 with a hybrid method involving telephone interviews, face-to-face collection, and an online questionnaire.
